In the 5th grade division, the #1-seed 11-2 Saints (coached by Mike Pausic and Chuck Cory) are paired up with the red-hot #3-seed 9-4 Black Knights (coached by Brandon Isaiah and LD Perry) who handed the Saints their second loss in the final week of the regular season.
In the 6th grade division, the finals teams are a combined 19-3. The top-seeded Patriots, coached by Dirk Katstra, are paired up with the second-place Warriors, coached by Lee Cress - an old rivalry getting started now - but sure to provide an exciting final game for both teams!
In the 7th grade division, the two strongest teams have advanced to play in the championship game. The very deep and talented group of Patriots (#1 seed) are coached by James Davis and they will face an extremely well balanced, focused group of Saints (#2 seed), coached by Michael Woodfolk and Jeff Tennery.
In the grande finale (8th grade division), the #1-seeded Dragons find themselves back in JPJ for the second year in a row. Set on avenging their loss from last season, the Dragons find themselves matched up with the upset-minded Patriots (#3-seed) who defeated the Warriors in an epic, overtime battle in the semifinals. The Dragons, coached by Jeff Perkins, have sprinted to the finish line with an 11-2 record, while the Kim Martin, head coach of the Patriots, had to rally her troops from a 17-point deficit just to take her underdog (but very talented) group to the final game.
Needless to say, Sunday, March 13 will be an exciting day at JPJ!
We will be producing a championship program - and we are looking for sponsors willing to support this great event for our wonderful volunteer coaches and hard-working student-athletes. SPONSORS CLICK HERE TO PUT AN AD IN OUR PROGRAM! Thank you for your support!
