The Junior Basketball League (for grades 1 - 2, 3 - 4) will be holding its Evaluation Dates on Fridays in October. These dates are designed to allow our VABA staff to assess each young athlete signed up for this season, and evaluate their skill level, athleticism and other important intagibles. Our goal is to be as thorough as we can in learning the overall skills, strengths and weaknesses of all the players, so we can not only even out the teams to create a balanced league, but also better determine where we need to begin in the teaching process as we train and prepare our coaches.
Each Evaluation Date is assigned based on where each athlete attends school. These dates are also an opportunity for the young athletes to go through some drills (FREE CLINIC!) with our staff, get some "coached scrimmage" time and for parents to ask questions and make requests regarding practice days, times, etc. Parents and coaches may also make team member requests.
Finally...invite a friend! Come check us out! These dates are an "Open House" to anyone who would like to attend to come learn more about VABA and the Junior Basketball League. We may or may not have space available, but ALL ARE WELCOME, and if there are some roster spots, we will place you on a team! And, our VABA staff will be more than willing to answer any questions you may have!
