WOW!  What an exciting fall season as we have been hard at work preparing for the upcoming basketball season.  Both the Junior Basketball League (JBL, grades 1-2, 3-4) and the Virginia Developmental Basketball League (VDBL, grades 5, 6, 7, 8) have begun practices, and we have hit the ground running.  After intense, thorough training sessions with our VABA coaches, we have been thrilled at the teaching, the fundamentals, the skill and character development that has already taken place in the first week!  VABA's mission is based on the most important quality of any youth program: the coaches!  And, our VABA Coaches have been taking this responsibility quite seriously as they have been carrying our our defensive and offensive curriculum, as well as our Pyramid Project (based on John Wooden's Pyramid of Success).  Games begin the weekend of December 3-4, so we look forward to a wonderful Thanksgiving and then another week of preparation as we take steps forward in the developmental process!  Great job to coaches, assistant coaches, team managers, parents and student-athletes, as well as to our community sponsors who have stepped up to support our Mission.  Thank you!  We're all looking forward to a terrific season!
