Wow!  What an exciting time of year!  And, what an exciting time for basketball!  The past two weekends, VABA winter leagues have held over 60 sets of games for teams, boys & girls, ranging from grades 1 - 8.

The Junior Basketball League (JBL) took off with a bang for our younger grade levels (grades 1-2) and also our third and fourth grade teams!  This, our inaugural year for the JBL, could not have been more exciting and fun for all involved, from parents to coaches to young athletes.  Our goal for this age group is to develop a deep love for the game of basketball that transcends just playing the game and carries on for many years to come!  Our coaches have been enthusiastic teachers, motivating and encouraging our most beginner level athletes as well as those young, up-and-coming experienced youngsters.

The VDBL (Grades 5,6,7,8), in its fourth season, has also continued to grow in popularity this season.  And, with each passing year, our coaches become more experienced, better trained, and more connected and empowered by our VABA Mission.  This age-level is a critical time of preparation for not only the potentiality of high school athletes, but more importantly, true life experience.  Our coaches, along with our parents, have diligently been carrying our our academic and behavior expecations weekly, as players have earned the privilege to play, and with each passing week it is obvious how much development is taking place on the court with the basketball skills being taught.

Coaches...keep up the good work!  Parents...thank you for your continued support and positive feedback!  To come watch a VABA game, check our our Game Schedules each week.  For more info, and for a closer look at all our league play, feel free to watch our VABA Videos
