Gabriella Mirabelli (Covenant, Class of 2010) was diagnosed with chronic exertional compartments syndrome, which can cause extreme pain as muscles fail to expand properly when exercised. She has had multiple surgeries, had needles inserted into her legs, been in a wheelchair for months, but never gave up her hope to play basketball again. The pain and the hours of physical therapy never deterred her, never broke her will to compete at the varsity level and help her team on the floor. On this night she received the “Lou Beeler Inspiration Award.” Congratulations, Gabby!
