For over 40 years Coach Fletcher Arritt has been coaching basketball at Fork Union Military Academy. He is truly a coaching legend! And, every May, he presents the award named after him, given to the coach in this area that best represents Coaching Character. In this excerpt, Coach Arritt talks about the award recipient (Russ Gowin from Buckingham HS), and what coaching REALLY means. Coach Arritt also discusses here why VABA has such an impact on this community through the sport of basketball and why he supports this mission. Thank you, Coach Arritt, for all you have done and continue to do for young athletes!
