The Virginia Basketball Academy is committed to providing the highest level of basketball teaching. However, beyond basketball, we believe that a coach's ultimate goal is to maximize his/her position in order to help prepare young players for life.
The Coaches' Classroom is a place where coaches of all levels can come to learn more about how to teach the game of basketball. In addition, we hope to provide sound coaching principles that will improve your ability to not only be more effective as a teacher, but also maximize your team's potential to perform at the highest level. Much like Roy Williams (UNCs head coach), Coach Barkley emphasizes the fundamentals - like communication, faking and meeting the pass. Also, similar to his favorite teams coach, Coach Barkley removes his glasses to speak to his team. Thank you, Coach, for all you do for our boys!
