Sharpen scoring skills!

Proper shooting technique and developing good shooting habits are critical to developing the all-around player. Unfortunately, most players have numerous imperfections with their shot – and, oftentimes, these bad habits go uncorrected, and it becomes increasingly more difficult to significantly improve your shot.  If you can shoot the ball well, it provides multiple other opportunities to expand your game, and coaches are always looking for good shooters. Conversely, if you are an inconsistent or poor shooter, you become more limited as defenders will be able to key in on this weakness. The Shooting & Offensive Skills Mini-camp addresses proper shooting techniques as well as drills to take home and work on, on your own, so you can redefine your shot and reinvent your game.  Proper footwork, and important offensive “reads” will be taught and added to your new jumper, as additional scoring moves develop, taking your game to the next level!

Position-specific training!

Understanding how your game, and whatever position or role you are designated to fulfill, is critical toward success on the court.  In particular, a point guard, a wing, and a post-player should each have similar mindsets in certain areas, but also think a certain way, more specific to their position.  The Specialty Position Mini-camp will address the following for each position: POINT GUARD (ball-handling, passing, timing, running your team, leadership, pick & roll offense, pressuring & containing the ball, moves & counter moves, etc.), WING (playing off the ball, using screens, running your lane, attacking from the wing, moves & counter-moves, defending the wing, etc.), POST-PLAYER (passing, low-post moves, running the floor, positioning/sealing in the post, back-to-the basket, long-post face-up game, finishing).

3v3, 4v4, 5v5 drills/games!

One of the most difficult things to do is to teach players how to “see the game.”  Many players look, but very few “see” the game. Second to developing fundamentals, basketball players must understand “how to play.”  The Team Skills Mini-camp is designed to connect the individual fundamentals and piece them together systematically (2-on-2, 3-on-3, 4-on-4 & 5-on-5) in order to develop a player who is better able to “see the game” and play, most effectively, in a game-setting.
