Winter League Evaluations Wrapping up!
Check out VABA's pre-season fall evaluation schedule!  If you plan on playing VABA's Winter League, please register today before evaluations finalize.  For our VDBL-Girls, we are preparing for Sat, 9/29 @ CHS.  For our VDBL-Boys, (developmental league), there are two remaining evaluation dates (Sun, 9/23 @ AHS and Tue, 10/2 @ CHS).  For the JBL (junior league), there is one remaining evaluation date (Fri, 9/28).

If teams are full when you register, please sign up for YOUR TEAM (you will be placed based on school affiliation or home address),  If you plan on playing basketball this winter, we are in crunch time!

Girls Night Out!
This is open and FREE to the public!  Anyone can attend!  This is a special, fun night for ALL VABA GIRLS!  The first session will include our JBL participants, assisted by our "Big Sisters" in the VDBL, with a big pizza party and then another clinic for our 5th-8th grade Girls!  VABA will be conducting a dynamic, exciting, informative basketball clinic for all girls, grades 1-8 on Saturday, Sept. 29, 4:30 - 9:00 pm @ CHS! Grades 1-4 will do their evaluations from 4:30-6:15, followed by a pizza party from 6:15-7:00pm. Grades 5-8 will do their evaluations from 7:00-9:00 pm.  Those already signed up for this season's VDBL-Girls Winter League are required to attend, at least, one clinic.   Bring a friend!  We may have some special guests crashing out party, so come see who it is! 

Black Knights Open Evaluation & Last Chance Evaluation
For our Black Knights, JBL 1-4 evaluations are on Friday, Sept. 28th from 6:00p-8:15p. The Black Knights VDBL 5-8 evaluations and our LAST CHANCE evaluations for anyone who was unable to make their scheduled evaluation date is Tuesday, October 2nd at Charlottesville High School from 5:30p-8:30p.

Fall Skills Academy begins next Sunday (Sept. 30)
Want to prepare for the winter season?  Every Sunday afternoon & Wednesday and Thursday evenings for 6 weeks, beginning September 30, we will be offering our fall Skills Academies on Sundays (@ Charlottesville High School), Wednesdays (@ Greer) & Thursdays (@ Jouett MS).  Pick, a-la-carte, the dates that work best for you and your family!  These sessions offer top-notch basketball instruction (skills & drills) as well as game-speed performance training, including agility, speed, quickness, balance, explosion, injury prevention, and conditioning and OPEN GYM pick-up basketball sessions (walk-ups encouraged!)!

OPEN GYM @ CHS on Sunday evenings!  
For six (6) Sundays before the season begins, VABA will have "OPEN GYM" (5-on-5 pick-up) from 6:00 - 7:30 pm.  Fall Skills Academy participants play for free - walk-ups $5 to help cover gym costs & officials.  VABA Staff will be there to help run games!


Waiting List Update
If your child is still on the waiting list for our Winter JBL or VDBL, DON'T PANIC! We are still working closely with the county and the city as we finalize more practice space. While we cannot guarantee that your child will be pull off the waiting list, we do try our best to accommodate everyone. We are hoping to make final decisions about the waiting list while we for our teams in October. If you are pulled off of the waiting list, you will receive an e-mail with a payment link. If you have not attended an evaluation date, please attend one of the last three. Thank you for your patience through the process!
